Although Hemochromatosis (Iron Overload) is not directly a thryoid issue, it may become one because of the thyroid forums. It is common to see suggestions in thryoid forms that one take iron supplements because low ferritin can cause fatigue and hypothyroid type symptoms.
ie: you take thyroid hormones and still feel bad, maybe you should take iron too.
What you *SHOULD* do is take an iron test, your ferritin and other iron levels. If your ferritin (iron stores) is low then of course you need an iron supplement.
You iron could also be high (because you took supplements when you didn't need them) or because you have Hemochromatosis.
If your iron is high you may have similar symptoms to it being low and if it gets high enough you will die.
